Can I get a backdated sick note?
As a rule a sick note applies from the day you contact a doctor. Backdating is only done in exceptional cases and at the doctor’s discretion.
Do I actually need a sick note?
If you have been with your employer for at least two months you can often self-certify the first days. The doctor will say if self-certification is enough.
