Frequently asked questions

Will I get antibiotics?

Only if it is clinically right. Most respiratory infections are viral, where antibiotics do not help. The clinician assesses whether they are needed and may ask you to come in.

When should I be seen in person instead?

With a high fever that won’t settle, breathing difficulty, or feeling very unwell, you should be examined in person. The clinician will guide you.

With breathing difficulty, blue lips, or being severely unwell: call 113. For urgent out-of-hours care in Norway, call 116117.
